Our route through Indonesia [120 days]

1st Journey, September 16 - October 13, 2010

Bali

2nd Journey, Mars 13 - May 9, 2011

Bali, Lombock, Sumbawa, Flores, Bali

3rd journey, October 10 - November 7, 2011

Jakarta to Bali.

We did all this journeys as backpackers. We keep our truck parked in Malaysia for 8 months.

Traveling in Indonesia is a challenge.It consists of 17,508 islands, about 6,000 of which are inhabited. The only reason to go through with a camper is to reach Timor Leste for a shipping to Australia. We didn’t want to do it.

2. Changing money, ATMs,Visa card

It’s best to bring both US dollars or Euros, they can be exchanged everywhere and you can pay with either. If you are still in Cambodia remember that ATM provide Dollars. Euros are exchanged in main towns. You can find ATM’s providing Kip only, in main towns, Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng, Oudoxai, HouaiSay.
